چکیده

We present a new method for estimation of spectrum transition of a nonstationary signals in low signal-to-noise ratio cases. Instead of basic functions which are employed by the previously proposed time-varying ARmodeling, we introduce the spectrum transition constraint in the cost function described by the partial correlation coe cients so that the method is applicable to noisy nonstationary signals of which spectrum transition patterns are complex. By applying this method to the analysis of vibration signals on the interventricular septum of the heart, noninvasively measured by the method developed in our laboratory using ultrasonics, spectrum transition pattern is clearly obtained during one beat period for a normal individual and a patient.

PARCORR-Based Time-Dependent AR Spectrum Estimation of Heart Wall Vibrations

We present a new method for estimation of spectrum transition of nonstationary signals in cases of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Instead of the basic functions employed in the previously proposed time-varying autoregressive (AR) modeling, we introduce a spectrum transition constraint into the cost function described by the partial correlation (PARCORR) coefficients so that the method is appl...

Journal of Applied and Theoretical Physics Research Biophysics of Chest Vibrations

The purpose of this mini-review is to outline diversity of chest wall vibrations, specify biomechanical peculiarities and point out a few problems crucial for development of diagnostic and therapeutic applications of chest wall vibrations. The review considers two types of chest wall vibrations: spontaneous, induced by breathing, and forced (or artificial), induced by external vibration forces....

Random model of vibrations for Foreign Object Damage detection in a civil aircraft engine

In this article we analyze several vibration time series measured on a real fan test rig before and after it is hit by a flying object. We show first evidence that a windowed autoregressive model may be used to detect the shock after it occurred. We compare these results with a second time series that measures the rotation period of the fan. Lastly we repeat this experiment using adaptive autor...

Spectrum Estimation by Noise-Compensated Data Extrapolation

High-resolution spectrum estimation techniques have been extensively studied in recent publications. Knowledge of the noise variance is vital for spectrum estimation from noise-corrupted observations. This paper presents the use of noise compensation and data extrapolation for spectrum estimation. We assume that the observed data sequence can be represented by a set of autoregressive parameters...

Modified Maximum Likelihood Estimation in First-Order Autoregressive Moving Average Models with some Non-Normal Residuals

When modeling time series data using autoregressive-moving average processes, it is a common practice to presume that the residuals are normally distributed. However, sometimes we encounter non-normal residuals and asymmetry of data marginal distribution. Despite widespread use of pure autoregressive processes for modeling non-normal time series, the autoregressive-moving average models have le...
